Kylie & Caleb

October 19, 2019

"Caleb & I met through mutual friends. One random day in December 2017, I got a text from my friend Sarah Lee saying that her husband, Jim, worked with someone named Caleb, & they thought the two of us should meet. First we were social media friends, then exchanged phone numbers. In the first few weeks there were lots of phone calls lasting hours at a time. We decided to meet, & the meeting location was Home Depot parking lot! I am a lifelong “scaredy-cat” & wanted to make sure it was a brightly lit, open, public place. I even had my sister tracking my phone! Well Caleb turned out to be a gentleman, & it didn’t take long for my fears to dissolve. Over the next several months, we spent lots of time on the phone & spent time together as much as possible. By the springtime we were meeting one another’s children, family, & friends. So many pieces of the puzzle fell together; it just felt meant to be for both of us. We knew God was weaving a web together perfectly for our little family.
Caleb & I love to travel & see new parts of the world together. In the first year, we made trips to Key West, Florida and Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri. We both fell in love with Big Cedar. I actually said on that trip, “Wouldn’t it be amazing to get married here?” Little did I know Caleb was already making plans towards a proposal. On July 4th, 2019 we were on a beach vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama with several other friends & family members. Everyone was in on the upcoming proposal secret except me. Caleb led me out on the boat docks, while our three kids came around the corner carrying signs that read “Will you”, “marry”, & “me?” Of course I said YES! Early on in the wedding planning process our minds kept going back to the chapel at Big Cedar Lodge. We decided it had to be the place.
Caleb & I said “I Do” on October 19th, 2019 in the Garden Chapel right where we dreamed it would be the year before. Our children, families, and closest friends were in attendance, including the couple who had connected us together years before. It was quaint, elegant, & exactly how we had imagined. All guests were invited to the reception afterwards at Cedar Creek where we enjoyed a delicious dinner & champagne toast by Big Cedar Lodge Catering & an amazing strawberry & vanilla cake by Sugar Leaf Bakery. The centerpieces & floral arrangements created by Artistry in Bloom were absolutely beautiful. Our DJ & Photographer from Complete Weddings + Events guided us through the reception itinerary perfectly, played our favorite music, & caught all of our treasured moments on camera. We danced the night away & made memories to last a lifetime. Our wedding day was truly everything we could have hoped for, & we wouldn’t change one thing!"- Kylie (Bride)

"Caleb and Kylie's wedding at Big Cedar was an absolute dream. I really enjoyed getting to know them as the day progressed. They were both fun-loving and excited to move throughout Big Cedar's incredible property to take some amazing pictures. Both of their families were huge Tennessee fans so after partying at the reception for a good while a bunch of them pulled up to a laptop around a table to watch the game, including the bride and groom. It was so fun to watch them all scream and cheer for their team at a wedding. Truly a fun and different experience with these two!" -Complete (Wes)
